The Unconscious does not speak in a linear language; its language is non-linear. The Unconscious speaks only in myth, metaphor, archetypal expression, or symbol, not English, French, Latin, or Swahili.
What our Unconscious is expressing is always calibrated through the filters of our Subconscious. It's directed outward by way of conscious projection. If there’s a deep-seated rage held by each of us, a rage stored hidden in the secret depths of our collective Unconscious concerning, for example, issues of ‘mattering’ it will find a voice in those who feel they matter least; in this case some in the black community. So, we observe through our conscious projection, a metaphor, a rage called Black Lives Matter (BLM). However, what’s truly expressing, what needs our immediate attention, is whether or not, Your Life Matters (YLM).
You’re the projector through which your unconscious shows itself. What you observe on the screen of your outer reality is a story; it’s not real. You see the anger in the form of racial injustice, real or imagined, and its violent repercussions, but it’s the private rage, rage not sourced in race or racism that needs your attention right now. It’s a rage held by you, a deep and gnawing belief that you don’t matter. If it weren’t there, the Black Lives Matter frenzy would not be unfolding in your reality.
The closer you are emotionally to the outward event, the more it disturbs you one way or the other, the more urgent the message within you. If the external events do not trigger much emotional response from you, the less the whisper’s impact and relevance are for you. But, it’s still a whisper, and like all whispers, it needs attention. To those rioting in the streets, and to those whose businesses and property were destroyed, the message is not a whisper; it’s a shout.
The call from this Black Lives Matter movement is a call to venture inside you and to face that part of you that holds the belief in ‘not mattering.’ When you come face to face with this part of you, it will rage and scream and wish to tear down all that you hold of valuable; and it will if left unattended. This part of you only asks that you feel its pain, that you see through its ghetto of invisibility, that you hear its cries and moan-full wails of grief and loneliness, and that you respond. This part of you is you. It’s heard loudly outside of you, but in truth, it calling from within. The only way you’re allowing your unconscious to speak to you right now is through the TV and the evening headlines.
Everything you observe outside you has its source deep within; everything. Cultivate the art of listening and responding if you wish to change the world and if you want to change yourself.
Remember the saying, “Nothing changes until you do?”
You’re a healer, heal; you’re a magician, work your magic. You’re a being of light and love, respond with light and love.
Go within and face that part of yourself; that part of you you see each night raging in the streets. Go within and hold that part of yourself, that part that seeks your attention by painting its pain on stone walls. And go within and reassure that part of you that it matters to you; and mean it.
Your life matters. It matters to your Higher Self; it matters to your future. It matters to your Soul. And, yes, it matters to the world. And, indeed, it matters to God and Goddess, and it matters to All That Is.
Does it matter enough to you to matter enough to respond?
