The C.O.R.E. Principles

Some strive to become a better version of themselves. Some strive to become perfect, an impossible undertaking, and some are satisfied with simply fixing a broken life. Some toil and struggle to accumulate more things in their limited view of success and happiness, while others are merely content to pass the time while waiting to die. But there are a few, not many, who desire to become more: not perfect, not better, not fixed, not merely having more, and not wanting to waste a perfectly good life. These few are destined to succeed in their quest, for becoming more is, in truth, the destiny of all. And what’s destined to be will inevitably happen in time and in accordance with one’s choosing. ASAT™ C.O.R.E. Counseling, and this book The C.O.R.E principles, are intended for people such as these.
C.O.R.E. is an acronym for conscious, ownership, release, and engage. It’s not a philosophy or a philosophical system or a healing modality or a series of alternative techniques and approaches; it’s a map and a guide for those willing and determined to consciously create a successful and rewarding life, filled with elegance and magical synchronicities. For those seeking to reclaim the authorship of their lives, C.O.R.E can be a guide. And for those choosing to journey on a road of ever-unfolding self-awakening, C.O.R.E. can serve as a map. But C.O.R.E. is not for everyone; it's only for the few who choose to travel a different path, a path of Coming Home.
The first certification class of ASAT™ C.O.R.E. counselors began in January 1990. For the next thirty years, hundreds of practitioners, along with thousands of their clients, journeyed their destined paths of growth and self-awakening with the guidance of the C.O.R.E map. At times their journey took them down bumpy and challenging roads; at times, the way forward was smooth and frictionless. At times their journey took them deep into dark and frightening places, at times to places of unimaginable beauty and enchantment. All were map-makers to virgin futures, all were crafters of more vibrant, more fulfilling lives, and each a participant in a grand adventure of becoming more.
Through the efficacy of ASAT™ C.O.R.E. Counseling, my fellow counselors and I have witnessed and are still witnessing the lives of our clients’ grow and thrive in remarkable ways. They’re crafting extraordinary realities, rich in fun, accomplishment, and magic. Where struggle and conflict once existed, adventure and elegance now flourish, and all this unfolds in a remarkably short time. They report being happier, healthier, and more successful, and their lives magically overflow with remarkable synchronicities. It’s inspiring to hear and glorious to behold.
Over the years, I’ve been asked by students and clients to write a book about C.O.R.E.; I tried many times to do so but with little success. Whenever I’d get about halfway, C.O.R.E. would change, and I’d have to start all over. Every time I thought I finally got a handle on it, C.O.R.E. would evolve and take on a new and different shape and texture. C.O.R.E. is an elusive lover, always seductive, always teasing, and always just beyond my reach. But I realized, over time, that it would always be that way, and it would always need to be. For C.O.R.E. was more than some counseling approach, some alternative facilitation method, or some series of healing modalities; it was a vibrant and living thing.
All living things grow and evolve and become stronger, and C.O.R.E. was doing precisely that. So, I finally gave up fighting and decided to write of its essence, its heart, and its inherent realness. I chose not to write about C.O.R.E. but to allow C.O.R.E. to write about itself. The process now became more natural, more fluid, and more fulfilling. And thirty years later, this book, The C.O.R.E Principles, came to be written.
The C.O.R.E. Principles is an introduction to a process rich in complexity and ripe with challenges requiring honest response and participation; it’s a guidebook for those seeking a different approach to healing and self-mastery. And it was written for the few who wish to pursue more magic, more authorship, and more conscious awareness in their lives. It’s for those willing to respond to life, not react to it.
The C.O.R.E. Principles contains three sections. Part 1 explores the foundations of reality creating. It provides a basis for understanding how everything in creation comes into manifestation, our place in that manifesting process, and how we shape and sustain what we create, and, more importantly, how we can elevate and even transcend all we create and experience. Part 2 explores the C.O.R.E. process: what it is, how it works, how it guides and maps our unique journey of becoming more. Part 3 covers the counseling practice and the ways and means of implementing the C.O.R.E. map to affect the change we seek and monitor the challenges and the resistance we’ll experience along the way.
This book is written for both counselors and those seeking the knowledge and the means to advance their life consciously and more elegantly. The book will serve both counselor and seeker as a guide to self-healing and self-discovery. It will provide insights, tools, and techniques for crafting a more fulfilling, more successful, and more rewarding life.
A journey lies before you, a journey complete with challenges, not struggles, consciously created opportunities, not a life lived at the whims of fate or luck, and grand adventures, not a life of toil and crisis like so many others choose to live. A life of becoming more awaits you. If such a life is for you, read on.
